After this, the devotees go to Kedarnath Dham for the darshan of Baba Kedar Ji and after having a spiritual experience from the Panchmukhi incarnation of Lord Shiva, the pilgrims then set out for the next leg of their journey.
The last stop of the holy pilgrimage is Badri Chaitra, located on the banks of the life-giving Alaknanda river at Shri Badrinath Dham, one of the 24 incarnations of Lord Vishnu, where the Badrinarayan form of Lord Vishnu is worshipped.

According to Hindu Puranas, the Pandavas built a temple of Lord Shiva in Dwapar Yug to get salvation from the sin of fratricide in the Mahabharata war, which is known as Shri Kedarnath Dham. Here Lord Shiva appeared to the Pandavas in the form of a vine, but this temple was lost due to the ravages of time. Later, a temple was built by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century, which remained covered with snow for 400 years.
Every year a large number of devotees visit Shri Kedarnath Dham to have darshan of Lord Shiva. To reach the temple, devotees have to walk about 17 km from Gaurikund to Kedarnath, which takes about 4-5 hours, which can also be covered with the help of horses, mules and palanquins.
